Te Kiwai Mauī o Ngāruahine (Mauī) is the standalone commercial entity who is accountable to Te Korowai o Ngaruahine Trust. Its purpose is to grow the treaty settlement assets by investing in commercial activities that generate a healthy return for Te Korowai.
Many of their investments have a longterm outlook and purchasing the Dawson Falls Lodge in 2016 is one example of this. Mauī is also responsible for the Iwi fisheries quota that provides pataka for Ngāruahine kaupapa.
