Sarah Mako - Ngāti Hāua

Sarah brings to Te Korowai strong governance and resource management experience required to enhance the aspirations of hapū and iwi. She lives in Bell Block but returns to South Taranaki regularly for whānau, marae, hapū and iwi kaupapa which keep her connected to her people and whenua.



She is an appointed director on the Taranaki Rugby Football Union and currently employed at Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa as a Pou Taiao Matua. This role enables Sarah to work strategically with marae, hapū and iwi focusing on delivering better outcomes. She has experience working in local authorities here and in the United Kingdom.


She aspires to take learning from experiences to further support hapū and iwi; to further strengthen the platform for ongoing cultural connections for our people.

Sarah has a Bachelor of Resource and Environmental Planning (Honours) and continues her te reo Māori journey at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
